Question: is there a late 31 owners manual that shows the interior picture with the dropped steering column bracket and/or the indented firewalli.e,no shut off valve under the dash?

Answer: According to the MAFCA/MARC Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines (page 17-4) there were two 1931 Owner's Manuals. Both had the 1931 copyright date. The easiest way to tell them apart is to find the picture of the carburetor. As you'd expect, the early manual shows the standard Zenith 2 type carburetor and flat firewall; the later manual shows the carb with the side-mounted sediment bowl and the indented firewall.

I checked the late '31 manual for the steering column bracket; the picture is of the earlier steering column bracket that comes off the bottom of the fuel tank, not the bracket that mounts off the dash rail.Guess they thought it wasn't important to reshoot that detail;)
