: I have found I havemultple disk clutch...I have found no parts sources in the catalogs I have... Can anyone help?

The multiple plate clutch disassembly is described in some detail in the Ford Service Bulletins which exists in a small version about 8"x10" with a yellow book type hardcover for $17 from the major parts supplier.A large "original size" reproduction of the service bulletins is also out there somewhere but I'm not that familar with it and it costs more.

The multiple disk clutch was the original clutch for the Model A and was a smaller sized cousin to the Lincoln clutches of the period. The clutch was a good performer overall but was subject to dusting of the interior spline where the driving clutch plates contact the flywheel interior. The dust would pack in, immobilizing the first plate of the series and one by one the remaining plates would be immobilized until the clutch was inoperable. The dusting of the clutch was worse for those who tended to "ride" the clutch.

I have described the extreme case and I have met those who like and prefer the multiple disk clutches since once set up they rarely require adjustment of any kind other than an infrequent disassembly and cleaning.Driven and maintained with some care they are the equals of the single plate clutch.

I would imagine that refacing your active sections with modern material would even further improve your clutch action and life. You may want to consult with the source previously mentioned as they probably have some experience with this and can make suggestions.

Hope this helps,
Joe
