Scott,

I think that it depends on the cause of the leak. If the leak is due to corrosion on the tubes then you have a big problem. If you have the radiator core rodded you will most likely find many new holes since the crud in the tubes are most likely pluging up other holes. The tubes are very thin brass and if you try to solder a hole, caused by corrosion, the heat will cause the hole to get bigger and bigger.

However if the hole was made by an impact of some sort then soldering should be fairly easy if severthing is clean and shiney.

An alternative to pinching off or soldering close a leaking tube is to insert a brass tube of slightly smaller dimensions into the leaking tube and solder it to the old tube at the top and bottom. Of course you have to remove both tanks to do this and you have to find the right size tube. This way you will retain most of the cooling from the tube.
