: I have just acquired a complete Gemsa overhead valve conversion setup which is in like new condition. I was told the head uses Austin Healy rockers and stands, Buick straight 8 pushrods, and Chevrolet valves. It is complete with a 2 carb and a 3 carb manifold for 97's',and a chrome header. The ignition is side drive with Scintilla mag that has a manual spark advance. It also has a top mounted Mallory dual point conversion with it. I would like to correspond with anyone who has or has used one of these heads. I understand these heads were used in drag and salt flat racing at wide open throttle. I would like to run this on the street in a Model A and would like to know how to set it up. Also interested in any printed literature and history of the head or Joe Gemsa.

Hi Joe, quite a find there.Try the Secrets of Speed Society. They did an article on Gemsa a year or so ago. The SOSS advertises in the Model A magazines and has a web site. They are your best source.By the way, from what I read, Gemsa made some good stuff.

Good Luck!
