Take the shoes off and put one at a time in the vise.Take your
torch in one hand and your wire brush in the other.As you put the flame on the shoe,the grease will boil to the surface-brush it off with the wire brush.Don't worry about burning the shoe--but don't burn the shop down.I've cleaned shoes like this for years(50) and it works. When the oil quits coming to the surface of the shoes,let them cool and then put them back on.A welding torch works best but a propane will do.Best of luck, Ben Jenkinson
