Ted,
The remund ignition is avaliable in 6 volt. I have used both the Nu-Rex and the Remund and prefer the Remund. Althoug both work great, the Remund takes no extra space, everythingis in the dist. I also run an GM alternator that has been wired for 6 volts, and it works great! Buck Eye Electric sells them for $65 or you can get them from Snyder's and Brattons for about $100. My modern 6 volt system has never let me down, in fact its one of the things I don't have to worry about.
Both the Remund and Nu Rex systems are about the same price wise, but the Remund includes a coil match to their system.
While I guess I could have gone over to a 12 volt system, This way I still can swtich back the the stock ignition in jst a few minutes.
