I have been using a Lincoln-220V for about a year with first cored wire and then converting to gas (CO2-Argon).The non-gas setup allows you to weld outside where any breezes would give the gas setup problems.Using the shielding gas gives a better weld-less splatter; with a milder steel wire which is easier to grind smooth.The small mig welders will do just about any welding you will want on car restorations.The Lincolns are available at discount chain stores at a good price also.
