G'Day Bob,
A good clear discription, but if you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism, I'd like to disagree with you on the idea of the rotor having any effect on the ignition timing as the spark is created at the moment the points begin to open no matter where the rotor is in relation to the cap contacts. The only means of changing the ignition timing is by physically (or electronically on modern tin) changing the moment the points begin to open in relation to crankshaft degrees.
