: Totally agree with you Gary.
: When it comes to seatbelts the good out-numbers the bad.
: Safety cage or not, I would rather take my chances strapped to the seat, than flying around inside or out of the car.

: 2 more cents.

i, too, would agree with gary and scott---about modern cars--

but there's a different situation with 1920's technology cars

like the ford "t" and "a" models---the centre of gravity

being higher, and the suspension simpler, they were far more

likely to go sidewaya and tip or roll over---the side windows

were plate non-safety glass which would break into horrid

long triangles of glass--like butchers' knives or spears--

razor sharp---i saw this first-hand in the mid 50's when the

old fords were $20 teenagers' cars---survivors were those who

kept their heads down---i'm not meaning to try to scare anyone

--but--the hazards with the older cars are a bit different

from even the late 30's cars with the "turret top" bodies

and safety plate glass all around---

but---what i really meant to say earlier should have been

more like --don't take the chances modern drivers commonly

do with modern cars cos the old fords have none of the modern

cars safety features--and adding seat belts won't make up for

all the other differences--enough to matter much---!!!
