: Looking to purchase a new pair of retractable seatbelts in brown. Does anyone know of a source? Thanks.

Bob,
In the Boston area, we have a number of vendors that sell new (GM) seat belts and they come in two different lengths in case you need a longer belt to secure it to the FRAME.

I installed seat belts (brown) in my 31 Town Sedan and they are anchored to the sub-frame, not the floor boards. At the speeds we drive,I'm not so worried about the force of any impact, although it could be significant, but the possibility of the doors springing open and falling out.Lets face it, the door latch mechanism of the Model A is far from secure, and have know to fly open just going around a corner. At least with the seat belt I know I'm going to stay in the car.

In any event,a seat belt is not a substitute for good driving habits while on tour.Your best "defensive" driving techniques are need, since a Model A has many handicaps, compared to a modern vehicle.Starting, Stopping and handling need our constant attention while we're driving.
