First, If the original has fair porcelain BE CAREFUL. Someone would like to restore it.
To remove the emblem, lay the shell face down on a folded towel (8 or more layers). Select a socket that fits within but comes VERY close to the diameter of the hole. Place the socket (hollow end down) over the rear of the emblem and strike square with a mallet. One time will usually pop it right out. The socket should have a good inside taper so that it impacts the emblem retainer as close to the outer edge as possible.
Replacing the emblem is just a matter of pressing it in easily by hand. Be sure you have it straight or you will have to repeat the process.
