: when installing my front spindles, I noticed that my locking pin only goes in one way, with the nut to the front, all of the books, say it should be nut to the rear. for mine to be this way my axle would have to be turned around, will it be a problem to leave this way.

: thanks for any help, jim
Hi Jim, Seems very possible someone previously installed your front axle backwards. Many well used front axles have a bow in them where they are arched forward because of often being towed and jerked out of mud holes etc., years ago. This bow usually does not always affect camber, caster, and toe-in.Axle may work okay like this, but a potential, future "A" buyer may question this bolt set up.On the other hand, sometimes the front spring perches are very difficult to remove and require special drill and cold chisel removal. My opinion is to try loosening the castle nuts on the spring perches aftr soaking in liquid wrench or equivalent, and go from there.
Best wishes, Henry.
