Original seats or not

We aqquired some seats yesterday for our 1930 tudor. the question is. do the original seats have a cast iron folding mechanism or a sheet metal piece that has been boxed in its kind of hard to explain for me but I'm sure someone knows exactly what I'm talking about. thanks in advance.
