Hi Allen. When you say "modeling" I'm guessing you're building a model car of a 1930 Ford Coupe and want to paint it like "the big ones."

If so, you probably don't want to spend the $$$ to buy restoration guidelines or paint manuals. Here are some general guidelines on 1930 Coupes.

There was a standard coupe and a deluxe coupe in 1930-31.They were mechanically identical and the bodies were identical, but the paint, upholstery, and a couple of details were different. The Deluxe had cowl lights, a dome light, and deluxe upholstery materials.Trim pieces in the interior were painted slightly different colors.

All wheels came from the factory painted black.Optionally, dealers could install colored wheels, usually matching the pinstripe (which both cars had.)

Colors of the body were always 2 contrasting colors (except for all black and Thorne Brown)Some examples are

Standard and Deluxe Colors:
Lower body & reveals around windows - upper body, belt, sills:
Andalusite Blue - Black - French Grey stripe (or Aurora Red)
Lombard Blue - Black - Hessian Blue stripe
Kewanee Green - Elkpoint Green - Apple Green stripe
Copra Drab - Chickle Drab - Straw stripe
Chickle Drab - Copra Drab - Straw stripe

Deluxe Colors:
Brewster Green - Black - Apple Green stripe
Ford Maroon - Black - Vermilion stripe

These are GENERAL guidelines - the MAFCA/MARC Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines has a bunch of footnotes to many of these colors stating conditions on their use.But for your modeling purposes, you can probably take your pick.

Ask a Model A friend near you to show you a copy of the Model A Paint Chips book published by MAFCA to get an idea of what the colors look like and to help you match the paint.
