Hugh, This is America and prices are driven by supply and demand. Phaetons cost more because there are more people who want them than the supply can keep up with. If you go to the link below you will see ASKING prices for Model As broken down by body style and condition.The data is from the last 5 years of adds in the Restorer and Model A News, over 1700 cars. It has been pointed out that these prices might tend to be on the high side since they are asking prices and are from Model A club magazines.As you will see the range for a 'driver' Phaeton is $8,900 to $24,500 with an average of $14,800. You will also see that the average price for a Tudor, in 'driver' condition, was $7,700 or about half as much.
