Tim:
I've been in the Rouge complex probably 5 times in the last two years, in the course of my work for a paint system manufacturer. They still build Mustangs there, and are in the process of building a new paint shop for the Mustang (or whatever they decide to build there in the future). There is still a lot of the old facility there, areas with wood block flooring and the big heavy concrete columns you see in photos of the plant when the Model A was being built. The steel mill is remarkable, and no place that I would want to work in.

I've made some inquiries about organized tours. I don't think that they still do them in any of the assembly plants like they once did, but I will let you know.

Another place to visit if you are in the area, besides the Village and Museum is the old Fairlane estate. It is open for tours, and the large indoor pool area has been converted to a very nice restaurant.
