OSPHO works by converting iron oxide (rust) to a more stable
iron phosphate. Remember that OSPHO is an acid, use it with care and protection for your eyes and skin. They say to let it dry and then paint over it. I never do,I almost always lightly sandblast, apply OSPHO,let it work for a while, and then I rinse the residue off and let it dry, usually do all this in hot sun with parts hot. Then prime, I use Rustban primer, even before surfacer primer, and then paint. Lately I have taken to using Dupont Dulux enamel with Dupont 77 hardener, I find this to be very cost effective and most old colors are easy to find in Dulux because it's been around forever.
