Ken

You've said you're looking for an "original" pop-out switch. This is probably wise.

In my case, I went with the "reproduction" switch currently available from most parts houses for slightly under $100.(Actually I bought it when the price was nearer to $50)

My experience is that the reproduction switch will not fit in the quarter turn bayonet type socket on the backside of the dash panel, being a little bit too large in diameter. You either modify the dash to fit the switch or modify the switch to fit the dash.In my case, I modified the switch but it took some ingenious machining in an engine lathe and manual filing to get the body diameter somewhat smaller without removing the "ears" that hold it in place.

Just another story of poor reproduction fit & finish.I know you'll do better.

Best regards,
Joe
