The water outlet on the head is the "A" configuration while the Water outlet on the pump is model "B"

If the engine with the water outlet on the pump also has NO oil drain tube on the manifold side of the block (between the valve chamber cover and the crankcase, but has instead either a fuel pump, or the opening for one, then it's a "B" engine.

If it's got the Oil drain tube, then it's an "A" engine with a "B" head (they fit).
