: Each time I read a posting and then hit return, I get sent back to the start of the postings and then must wait for everything to reload before scrolling back down to where I was. what am I doing wrong ?

Jim,
I don't have experience with many different browsers, but Netscape returns you to the same general vicinity on the previous page when you click the back button. But you still have to wait for the page to refresh. It's generally stored in a temp file on your hard disk controlled by the browser's "disk cache". If your system has the resources, the most recent items will be in sysem memory (faster)controlled by the browser's "memory cache". The size of these settings may be increased in most browsers if your system has the available resources. Overall speed is still dependent on your own system.

It should be a little better now that Dale has shortened the list somewhat. You can shorten it further by clicking the "stop" button before the page has loaded completely. It will stay the reduced length until you "reload" the page again. If you stop it short with each reload you will see a difference, but will not see anything added below the interuption.

I hope my attempted explanation helps,
Marco
