As you know, I am coming and also am the Car Judging Coordinator for the hosts, which are the chapters in the Northern California Regional Group of MAFCA.Our "Supercommittee", which also includes the Reno area chapters are really getting excited about the meet - we hope it will be the best ever, and should offer something for everyone interested in the Model A hobby.We plan to have all the car judging done inside the Grand Ballroom of the Reno Hilton, which is probably the most spacious and luxurious spot A's have ever been judged in! (Since 1980 anyhow!)All the show cars will be on display the evening after judging in the Ballroom so all attendees can see them up close and personal, not just the judges, and we are planning to have the First Place and above cars be driven into the Ballroom at the Awards Banquet to receive their awards, and they will be on display again after the ceremonies! For those interested in modified cars, we will have a Modified Class for judging, as well as the Tour Class.There will also be a Hillclimb held on the first day of the meet on a 1/10th mile uphill course to test the best of the "speed A's", with classes for stock, modified and speedster cars.Tours to beautiful Lake Tahoe are being set-up, including the Grand Tour to Heavenly Valley.
I encourage everyone to register early as some of the bus tours are filling up - entry forms can be found in the Restorer, and anyone needing one can e-mail me and I'll be happy to have a form sent.
