G'Day Neil,
I'll go with carla on this one & only undercut the segments on the generator. If you'd care to check with your local auto electrician I'm sure he'd confirm this for you.

: I'm confused about restoration of the commutator.Some books say to undercut the mica separators after turning the commutator, while others say not to undercut.What's correct for the starter? Thanks in advance.
