: When I tok my car apart there was insulation stuffed into the recesses of the roadster doors...I guess to deaden the noise and to make the door sound more solid when it was closed... : What is the best material to replace this with?I thought about that foam insulation as it would make the door solid...but a body man told me it would warp the door when it expanded...I guess I could just restuff it with some atic insulation (fiberglass)..The inside pannels are undercoated and look fine...but I would like them to sound more solid i don't know if this is the best way to do the job, but i have seen some of the old timers put in sheets cut to shape from sheet felt 1/4 or 3/8" thick, adhered and then covered over with hot tar, which sealed the felt so it wouldn't wick up and hold water------maybe one of the modern sticky undercoat materials would serve in lieu of the hot tar? hope this helps |
