Check the postings on March 16 on the board.
The best article I have seen is in Volume 2 of How to Restore a Model A.You can get this at most Model A partsa houses or directly from MAFCA.
The Basic trick is to use a brush that has been hacked up by cutting the bristles at random lengths.This produces a grain like appearence. The article also states that tooth picks are used to create the finner graining. Get the article.
