: What is the best method for shipping a Model A across country? How do you insure it?

I just shipped my 1929 Tudor across the country.West coast to east coast.I used Horseless Carriage. They where great to deal with. They insured the car.I did not have insurance on the car because it had not been rebuilt yet.

I shipped my car enclosed. You can ship it open and save about 50% $800 versus $1550, but I would recommend shipping it enclosed. It is alot safer enclosed. You also need to make sure all parts are solid i.e. bolted tight. The cars do vibrate and small parts will come off if not tight.

They will put the car on the truck for an extra $50 if it is not running.

Again, if you have the money ship it enclosed, it is worth it.
No one can steal any parts off it.
