i have 1930 town sedan that has required complete replacement of every wood piece in the car.i would estimate that half of the wood was completely rotten (hence, no pattern to go by).

my grandfather and i have made all of the new wood ourselves.
it has been an extremely tedious process and required over a year of work.however, i have spent only about $300 or so for all the ash required to make everything.

i don't know how interchangeable the wood is for my 1930 to your 1931, but if you think the wood dimensions are the same, i'll be glad to try and forward you any dimensions you may need from my salvageable, pattern wood.

i should point out that the only wood in my car that was intact enough for me to get good patterns was the top, back seat, sills, and cross sill wood.i had to completely
fabricate all new door wood with no patterns whatsoever.

: Hello,

: I have just spent about an hour looking through all the postings here and in both archives.I am new to this hobby just having purchsed a '31 fordor S/W Town Sedan that pretty much needs all new wood in it.What is bothering me though is that noone seems to know where you can get plans to make your own wood.In all the postings the replies were to just buy wood kits and there is plenty else to do on your car.Well, I would think that there has to be someone out there that has made their own wood.It seems that just about every problem with A's has been asked and responded to except the one of body wood.
: If there is anyone out there that has any idea on how to obtain plans for the wood in cars, I am sure I am not the only one who would be very greatful to hear from you.I will keep up my search and post any findings here but I am asking for anyone's help that has any information! Thanks for your help.
