Scott had some good points and probably can be quite helpful. However, the only unique feature of the early '28 Sport Coupe (besides the standard early features) is the top assembly doesn't have the same braces inside the top as all the other Sport Coupes. In addition, the roof covering was whipcord fabric until approximately July 1928 and is unavailable as well.
I assume from your desciption the roof structure has not been reassembled. Be sure all the braces, brackets, original landau arms and mounting hardware are there. All these pieces can be found but not easily.
