Welcome to the hobby. If the engine in your car is stock or if you rebuild it as stock, then 45 M.P.H. is about as fast as you want to go. The original brakes are all mechanical and even when fully restored do not work as well as the hydraulica on todays cars. You have to decide what you want to do with your car and go from there. If you will be using it for touring with other Model As then you may want to see how they have restored their cars. I would suggest that you join a local Model "A" club if you have not already done so. There is so much to be gleamed from other owners.
