Water Pump

I want to remove my water pump by tilting the radiator forward. Can this be done without removing the headlight bar, or removing the fan from the pump shaft?That is, will there be enogh clearance?
Also what is your opinion of removing the studs and bolting the pump on for easier removal next time?
