Been reading through the Model A board and find it interesting.
As one who's involved in both sides, I think both rods and restorations can co-exist very well.
I presently run a 462" 32 Ford roadster, all re-pro so nothings lost there.
I am driving and restoring as I go a nice little 50 Plymouth coupe.

The roadster I enjoy as much of it had to be engineered and hand built and I've done it all myself except upholstery and the auto trans.

The Plymouth is a lotta fun too, as it's interesting to find out how some of this stuff was done and the reasons for doing it that way.
It's a lotta fun to drive too.
Not to mention that it's easier to work on than my newer car.
I do get a bit lost on that one at times.

The restorers do have a good point on cutting up very rare cars.
It is a shame as the rodders have many more options to choose from.

Having said all that, I'm now collecting parts for a 29 roadster, flathead powered dry lakes car, and need a body.
Rough and rusty are ok.
I don't think the restorers will lose much on this one and it is reliving a bit of history as it will be built pretty much like the pre and post war cars.
