: Larry,
I have a 1931 Coupe with a Model B engine using the Model B 3-bolt water pump. The safe way to take the pump out is to remove the radiator. It is possible to take the headlight bar off, disconnect the radiator hoses & loosen the radiator mounting bolts, pull the radiator forward and get the pump out. But if you go that far, then do it right & pull the radiator. The loose fan could likely be caused by a worn taper in the fan pulley and or a discrepant water pump shaft taper. I highly recommend Dave Wilton's plastic fan. AVOID ALL 2-BLADE ORIGINAL FANS as their fatigue life cannot be restored!
