I used to have a terriable shimmey problem. I replaced about everything and aligned the front end several times. Nothing really helped, all it did was to move the shimmy points to one speed to another. The problem was sloved when I tightened the tie rod more than everyone said it was acceptable. Once the tie rod was tight enough the problem went away. Steering seemed easier as well.
