Ford Louisville - History

For the history buffs among us, I picked up a pamphlet at the Louisville Assembly plant last week. It says that the first Ford facility opened at 931 South Third Street in 1913, and built approximatley 12 Model T's a day. In 1914, ford built a 4-story facility at 2300 South Third Street which began production January 2, 1916 and assembled 7,000 vehicles annually with an average of 53 employees. Then, in 1924, ford began a facility at 1400 Southwestern Parkway, which began production on February 2, 1925. It was the largest plant under one roof in the South. All of the Louisville Model A's were assembled in that plant. I don't know what happened to the first 2 plants.
