: I'm 70 years young, still messing around with model A's. I needa picture are a drawing of the main bearing groving tool.I have made the molds to pour the bearings,am now working on a boreing bar. I have a lathe and milling machine and I want to make a groving tool but I have never seen one. If anyone has one for sale I would be interested.I'm not sure if there was one tool or two tools. I know the grove in the rear is longer and has a different pattern. Was there one tool and two guides? Will someone please set me straight. Thanks much. I am retired and this is my hobby.

Ben, the best literature on the grooving tools for the Model A Ford is found in the 1931 K. R. Wilson catalog available as a reprint through many of the Model A parts houses. The tools are very rare and expensive when found in the flea markets. There is a person in Portland, Oregon that reproduces the complete set. There were 4 guides, a cutting tool, tool holder bar, a bearing cap holder, setting guide, and a bar turning rod.E-mail me if I can answer specific questions. If you have a fax number, I will fax the sheet on the grooving tools.
Best of luck---
John Cannon
