Hi,

Your A should be a 1930 if the engine number is correct for the car (lots of engines have been swapped over the years).
The Deluxes had factory cowl lights while the standards did not.Be careful, your car may have cowl lights that were added later!

Fordors by Briggs (1930):
170-B Standard Fordor (two window)(early 1930 only)
170-B Deluxe Fordor (two window)
165-D Standard Fordor (three window)
155-D Town Sedan (Deluxe)(Three window)

A good book that contains many FACTORY photos:
THE FORD MODEL "A" AS HENRY BUILT IT
by DeAngelis, Francis, and Henry. You can verify your information there.

Standard Fordors had variations of checked cloth while the Deluxe models had variations of Mohair or Bedford cord.

Check out www.mafca.com and www.modelaford.org.
The MODEL "A" JUDGING STANDARDS AND RESTORATION GUIDELINES available from the national clubs will also help you.

Good luck!
