Congrats on your new buggy!
Yes, it's suppose to have shocks. I like you found many surprises with my A as I learned more about them. Get all the books available. And when you can't find the answer in them then this is the place to ask, lotsawisdomhere! FYI I got a set of Houdles repros from Bratton's along with all the arms and hardware, in the neighborhood 600 bucks. Sounds expensive but you get everything.

To make it a safe driver go thru the brake system and steering system, spare no time or expense here! You'll be glad you did later on. Are you going to be the wrench twister? If so, your going to be in heaven, your lady is very rewarding.
Good luck,
GW

: Just picked up my 31 coupe. Is it supposed to have shocks?
: There is a ball that looks like something goes there, but nothing.Manuals are on the way, but for now, I don't know what to expect. Also, isn't it supposed to have a positive ground?

: Thanks for info
