: Putting aside what brand of tires came on the Model A, what brand of tire fitting stock 19" wheels will give the best overall ride and stopping control.

: There are big differences in tires and performance for modern tires in modern cars, so I'm assuming the same holds true for
: Model A's.

Rick,
I think you'll find that the bias ply tires currently available for the Model A will fundamentally handle the same.I have had various tires makes on my Model A over the years and I have never noticed any apprieciable difference in performance.I can tell that while touring to Toronto for the MAFCA convention in "96,my two fellow travellers and I were on rain slicked roads and while stopping we all experienced a certain amount of loss of traction. The three A's all have different tires i.e, Firestones, Goodyears and Liesters. So, it appeared all the tires handled the same in this situation. It would have been interesting to see if a Model A with 16" tires would have had the same problem.
