sounds like you have a great find in your 160b. i have to agree with jack on the route to take with the car...gentle refurbish with as many orginal parts as you can find.for me the pleasure of driving a model a is not in making it as 'improved', comfortable, and reliable as a modern car, but in driving a piece of history.the car has lasted 70 years, why gild the lily?yes, you will have to grease it every 500 to 1000 miles, and change the oil, and adjust the brakes and grind valves every spring (if you drive that much)...but so did the original owner. if i want to travel from point a to b, i drive my 1993 ford.i've found that the tinkering, the 45mph, the rolled down windows on a hot summer day, and even the breakdowns, are the fun part of driving an A. at 40-45mph and properly adjusted the A is a reliable car. add juice brakes, balance the crank, insert the bearings, 'improve' the car and 55mph is possible.then when you take your 100 mile day trip you can enjoy the ride for 1.8 hours instead of 2.2hours.as for me the longer in my A the better.
please, if you do convert your A, do it in such a way that your grandkids can take the parts you saved and go back to original. genny parts are getting harder and harder to find.

but...it is your car, it's my opinon.i could be wrong.
now i'll get off this soap box:)
