: What can be done for warped doors on a 31 roadster?

Jim, A little detail about the warped problem might help. However, from what I have observed on the open cars and primarily 30/31's is that the doors do not fit well at the bottom. They have a large gap starting at the top and getting wider toward the bottom. The trailing edge of the door does not follow the line of the jamb of the quarter panel. This appears to be a problem with the doors...but it is not.The top of the quarter panel above the belting will develop stress cracks and will result in the quarter panel "leaning out" slightly.Doesn't take much here to make a lot of difference at the bottom.Try pushing inward at the top of the quarter panel where it joins the door.If the bottom gap closes up, the cause is as described. To correct this, I have pulled the the two quarter panels together with a trunbuckle and cable system connected through the tabs for the top mounting bolts. Then fashioning a panel to fit in the underside over the cracked area and welding in place. This process corrected the problem on my 30 roadster.
Have fun!
Paul
