I am in the final stages of restoration of a 1928 Phaeton. My question is in regard to the spring clip and two rubbers that fit into each door slot that mates with the levelling wedge on the pillar. How are these fitted?? I managed to fit the two rubber pieces into the recesses top and bottom of the door slot, but I am unable to see how the spring clip fits, unless I perhaps have to drastically trim the rubbers so that they go further into the slots. In any case the clip is much longer than the door slot and the open end would protrude past the door trim when fitted. Cannot find any descriptions in the" How to Restore" series or Schild's book. Can anyone help please?
