Frank,
Well I justed purchased my 1930 Model A Tudor one month ago.I replaced the steering gear end plate with the modern plate. The plate includes a long tube to prevent oil from leaking into the wiring harness.I wanted to stop the oil leak before installing a new wiring loom. You can order the parts from Bratton's Antique Auto Parts 1-800-255-1929 open Moday's thru Fridays or order on-line with them 24hrs.The modern end plate is part A-3568-A cost $4.95.When you remove the old end plate look inside the steering box and remove the large round retainer and cork gasket.Use caution not to change the position of the light switch spider or light switch rod. You will need to remove the light switch spider by removing a small retainer clip first.Remember any remaining oil will drain and needs to be replaced after installing the new parts.

Good Luck,
Tim Wildey
