Glen,

The seats on the standard Tudor are interchangeble right/left and any year. The earliest had forged arms from the seat base to the bottom of the backrest frame where the hinge is a perminent rivet. I believe (?) it was late 1928 when the arms were changed to stamped steel with removable backrest hinge pins. But again, they are physically interchangeble.

The seat bottom frame is hardwood, no taper, has two separate female hinge brackets at the front, and metal cups for rests at the rear corners. 18" sounds about right but maybe Tim or Brian can confirm the width.

The tapered seat you have could be any of the other models. If it is symetrical it should be right side, if more taper on left, a left seat. Plywood base would be early (leather back) Victoria.

E-mail me more info on tapered seat and I can identify. Most of these are more difficult to find, so someone would probably be thrilled to swap for the one you need.

Good luck,

Marco

: I am rebuild a 1929 Tudor and I currently have two different style front seats.I think they are both the wrong seats. One is 18" across on the bottom and the other one has a tappered wood bottom.I have also heard that both seats for the Tudor where different sizes. Does anyone have the correct description of the front seats? If so please describe them to me or advise me of where to find the information.

: I am interested in purchasing the correct front seats if someone out there has a pair for sale.
