: Just obtained a 160 degree thermostat. It's a piece of pipe with a plate at one end and the other end open, revealing the spring and element. I assume the open end should face the block.??? Now, do I stuff this down the top of the hose just far enough to clear the end of the radiator pipe???? and do I need to clamp it in place from the outside??? And will this impede my cooling in the hot summer weather that is sure to come????
