: I am putting together my drive trane and was putting in the 4 flywheel bolts to the crank. I read in a manual that they should be torqued down to 80 foot lbs. When i was tightening one bolt, it broke.

: Is 80 foot lbs too much or was my bolt weak, it was the one I took out.

: I also measured the length of the bolts, 3 seem to be replacements and one seemed orginal. The original was 3/4 and the new ones were 1/8 longer and it seemed to bottomed out.

: I think they were too long. Is there a washer or lock-washer that is needed?

: Any help will be appreciated, I plan to put it together tomorrow.

: Thank,
: Tony

Tony,
Courtesy of Brattons Parts Catalog, the flywheel bolts should be torqued to 55 ft pds.
Have fun!
Paul
