G'Day Rick
I have taken out the glass channel and it has given me about 3/4" extra room sideways to play with. Not enough to rotate the glass and remove it. Removing the channel helps though.

The quarter windows are 30 11/16 " wide and fit pretty snugly into the L and R pillars. It looks as though they were bent to get the glass in. I will probably have to do the same. Every mm of size will count though cos its gonna be tight.

Strange that our cars should be so different. Is your car a full steel bodied version? I should have mentioned my model has very little wood in it.

At the moment I am trying to remove the steel channel from the glass to reduce the extraction size of the pane to a minimum (its soaking in CRC pentrating type oil at the moment and should be ready to attack when I get home from work tonight).

Obviously I won't have a hope of getting new glass in unless I can remove the old without breaking it. The new glass had better be cut to the low end of size tollerance though (P250 service notes).

Its a consolation to know that somebody got the bloomin thing in (probably in a screaming hurry) and all I need to do is be as clever as they were.And.....I know it can be done!

Man IS smarter than machine...eventually (only because we are persistant and sometimes break a few mechanical rules).

Regards Rick
Alex
