After several attempts, I bought an entire cable (housing and cable) (Brattons A17260-A) rather than only the inside cable.Works like a charm on my 1929 Murray Fordor.
All the inside repro cables I ordered were too short, and, after some research, I determined that my housing was a repro (so I didn't feel bad about replacing it).
