I don't mean to throw cold water on your success, by any means.For what it's worth, not too long ago I completed the overhaul of my block and had one h--- of a time trying to get the engine to run smoothly.I had installed a new set of Champion 16Y's before the tear-down, and was naturally prepared to use them again.After devoting hours to searching for electrical/fuel-related problems, I threw up my hands and installed a new set of Motorcraft plugs.You can guess the rest.One of our parts suppliers here in Houston -- "A" Mart -- won't use the Champions.I guess it depends on who you talk to.
What is really needed is a spark plug tester (I don't have one -- yet.)
The Moral that I learned: never assume...
