: Does anyone have any tips on engine/transmission removal and handling? Can an engine stand be made or where can I get a good one?I have a 30 Tudor.I am not looking for a step by step procedure but maybe some tips from some of the experienced pros out there.

Andy,
You can also unbolt the bellhousing from the flywheel housing and leave the transmission in place.
I use a couple of old spark plugs with the insulators knocked out and the electrode cutoff and with a couple of eye bolts and some washers (be careful of the size to clear the spark plug hole) and nuts. Or you can weld the eyebolts to the spark plug bases. Then these can be screwed into the #1 and #3 cylinders. As Fred said it isn't all that difficult and one man can do it.You may need a frame spreader when you get ready to put it back in.These also aren't difficult to make if you are or know someone who is handy with a welder and have some spare scrap metal around. There are plans in the "How to Restore" series for the exact dimensions.Depends on how much sag your frame has whether you will actually need one or not though.
John
