: I just cleaned up my fly wheel housing and found some cracks inunexpected places.

: I have two cracks approx. 1 1/2" long extending through the mounting holes at the 3 and 9 o'clock position where it bolts to the engine.I have heard that the upper two "ears" where the accelerator bracket bolts up is the common place for cracks (none here).

: Can someone offer advice on options? Welding, metal stiching, etc.?

As long as the cracks are small, like the ones you described, you shouldn't have any problems. It won't compromise anything structurally. It is very common for them to crack in those spots. Many people are probably running bellhousings that are cracked and don't even know it.The reason they crack there is because the motor is mounted solid to the frame.Every time you give the engine some throttle, the engine trys totwist or turn in its mounts, but can't because of the solid mounts. That is due to the torque the engine is making.
