: : I am beginning reassembly of a '28 Special Coupe. The leaf springs have been dissasembled, sand blasted, primed and painted black. At reassembly, should the leaves be lubricated? If so, what lubricant is recommended?

The teflon tape works well but eventually works out.I have just tried a product called SLIP PLATE made by Superior Graphite Co. in Chicago, IL 60606.It is a graphite baased lubricating paint.I got this several years ago but just painted my springs in June before driving to Reno and have not looked at them since, but they worked fine. Be sure to grind any recesses on the top side and round edges on the bottom side before painting.
